Income Report: February

I’ve Reached the Milestone of 1K Reads in One Month

After closing January with $28 for the month, I set ambitious growth goals for February. Some were achieved, others were not, and some successes came unexpectedly.

Let’s analyze in detail.

1) Followers

GOAL: 800.

FAILED.

Screen from my stats

February ended with 715 followers, a good +300 compared to January.
The reason? Vacation. Those 5 days off I took (bless them) slowed down the spread of my stories and consequently reduced my resonance.

Before, I was gaining around 11/12 new followers per day, now it’s around 7/8, and even after 10/15 days since my return, I still haven’t returned to the pace I had before, despite posting every day

2) Subscribers

GOAL: 40.

DONE.

The 40th follower actually arrived yesterday, March 1st, but one shouldn’t be too hard on oneself.

Anyway, I was already at 40 by mid-month, except that Medium removed 8 subscribers from my list overnight. I mention this for your awareness, am I the only one this happened to? Is it possible that 20% of my followers coincidentally decided to unsubscribe at the same time?

3) Earnings

GOAL: $150

FAILED

Here we are.

February saw my entry into the $ 100-per-month club!

As the screenshot shows, I’ve earned exactly $106!

A figure below expectations, as with followers due to days of inactivity, but still almost quadruple the previous month.

My goals for March

  • 1000 FOLLOWERS
I intend to publish 45 stories in March, raising the average from 0.9 to 1.5 per day.
This will allow me to better leverage the impact of publications.
  • $150 EARNINGS ON MEDIUM
I’m not particularly interested in fast growth of earnings on Medium, but the $150 declared in February deserves a try!
  • GET THE FIRST VIEW LANDING FROM OUTSIDE MEDIUM
LinkedIn, Pinterest, X, Substack… there are many ways to advertise your Medium content outside the platform.
I partially began yesterday, with the go-live of my personal website, but I know it’s not enough.
This is not a quantitative goal, but the first step to diversify my business.

How did your February go?

To the next time!
